The Easter Monday Hop Along is part egg hunt, part bar crawl, and all heart.
What started in 2019 as a fun excuse to hop from bar to bar with friends has become a grassroots fundraiser that uplifts our local community. Each year, we gather for a day full of games, eggs, drinks, connection, and joyful giving—all to support organizations doing powerful work here in Springfield, Missouri.
We’re not a business. We’re not a nonprofit. We’re just two friends who believe in mutual aid, showing up for our people, and raising a glass (and some money) for a better, more connected Springfield.
The Hop Along is a come-and-go-as-you-please event. You’re welcome to stay all day or just join in when you can. We move through 5–6 local bars and venues over the course of the day. At each stop, we host egg hunts, play games, give away prizes, and raise funds, all while celebrating and supporting local businesses and artists.
Since the beginning, we’ve raised money for the SWMO Solidarity Network—a grassroots, mutual aid organization doing important work right here in our community. But as the Hop Along has grown (and as people have been so darn generous), we figured—why not share the love? In 2026 we will be donating to S.T.U.N. (Springfield Tenants Unite) in addition to Solnet.
A schedule is released in advance with details on where to be and when. Each egg hunt happens at a specific time, and we ask everyone to honor that timing, which means no early grabbing! We rely on trust, community spirit, and the goodness of peeps to keep the magic going.
Step right up, place your bets, and try your luck!
This year’s theme, Lucky Number 7, is all about chance, risk, and the magic that happens when we play the game together. But around here, the house doesn’t win, the community does.
Every egg found, every sip taken, and every dollar raised helps support local organizations doing real, on-the-ground work for our neighbors.
So roll the dice, chase a little luck, and remember, the real jackpot is showing up for each other!
Since 2021, the Hop Along has raised funds each year to support SWMO Solidarity Network, a mutual aid group serving Springfield directly, as well as Springfield Community Gardens and this year S.T.U.N. (Springfield Tenants Unite). We’ve raised over $2,750 across the last few years—a little at a time, from a whole lot of heart.
In 2025, we raised $1,250, our most successful year yet.
In 2026, we’re stepping it up with a goal to raise $2,000. $1,000 for each organization!
Solnet are working people building power in the Ozarks through SOLIDARITY not charity. You can learn more about them and what they do here: Solidarity Network Facebook Page
Springfield Tenants Unite, founded in June 2020, is Springfield MO’s city-wide tenant union. We are led by a multi-generational, multi-racial base of poor and working-class tenants in Springfield. We organize to ensure that everyone in Springfield has access to safe, accessible and truly affordable homes. It is our goal to make sure that tenants have a say in where we live and what happens to our housing. We organize along all the lines that the other side uses to try to divide us.
