The Easter Monday Hop Along is part egg hunt, part bar crawl, and all heart.
What started in 2019 as a fun excuse to hop from bar to bar with friends has become a grassroots fundraiser that uplifts our local community. Each year, we gather for a day full of games, eggs, drinks, connection, and joyful giving—all to support organizations doing powerful work here in Springfield, Missouri.
We’re not a business. We’re not a nonprofit. We’re just two friends who believe in mutual aid, showing up for our people, and raising a glass (and some money) for a better, more connected Springfield.
The Hop Along is a come-and-go-as-you-please event—you’re welcome to stay all day or just join in when you can. We move through 5–6 local bars and venues over the course of the day. At each stop, we host egg hunts, play games, give away prizes, and raise funds—all while celebrating and supporting local businesses and artists.
Since the beginning, we’ve raised money for the SWMO Solidarity Network—a grassroots, mutual aid organization doing important work right here in our community. But as the Hop Along has grown (and as people have been so darn generous), we figured—why not share the love? So this year, we’re expanding to support a second local organization—The Springfield Community Gardens.
A schedule is released in advance with details on where to be and when. Each egg hunt happens at a specific time, and we ask everyone to honor that timing—no early grabbing! We rely on trust, community spirit, and the goodness of peeps to keep the magic going.
Think pub crawl meets fundraiser meets joyful rebellion.
This year’s theme celebrates joy as resistance. In a time of division and uncertainty, coming together is a radical act. “Power to the Peeps” is about grassroots action, mutual aid, and community-powered joy. Every egg we find, every drink we raise, and every dollar we donate brings us one step closer to a stronger, more connected Springfield.
Since 2021, the Hop Along has raised funds each year to support SWMO Solidarity Network, a mutual aid group serving Springfield directly. We’ve raised over $1,500 across the last few years—a little at a time, from a whole lot of heart.
In 2024, we raised $750, our most successful year yet.
In 2025, we’re stepping it up: for the first time ever, we’ll be supporting two local organizations, and our goal is to raise $2,000.
We believe that community-led events like this—filled with joy, generosity, and a bit of chaos—can make a meaningful difference. And we’re just getting started.
